12 years, Same Values!
We've changed a lot through the years, new boats, new logos but we've kept our goal the same, to introduce our guests to fishing. We love to see the bright smile someone gets when they catch a fish for the first time or even catch the biggest fish they've ever caught. Over the years, we have become concerned with the future of our waters, fish populations and fish habitats. We continue to run fishing charters to educate guests on the wonders of fishing and how important it is to have healthy fish and cleaner water.
Lyons Charters is a family team, Captain Ashley is a U.S. Coast Guard OUVP Captain and Captain Mark is a U.S. Coast Guard Master Captain. We are both members of the American Professional Captain's Association, a drug free consortium. We carry a Florida State Charter Fishing License which covers our guests while fishing.
Captain Mark Lyons
Mark grew up in North West Ohio fishing with his father on the reservoirs and with his grandfather on Lake Erie. Even though Mark's early career was as a mechanical engineer, he left for vacation and never went back. In fact Captain Mark 'vacationed' in multiple locations in the Caribbean including the Bahamas and Mexico. This is where Mark studied for a few years learning from locals the tested ways of fishing in saltwater. Captain Mark's fishing style is tried and true easy fishing. His favorite fish to eat is smoked King Mackerel, he carries a love for blue cheese and Nissan sport cars
Captain Ashley Lyons
Growing up in a small fishing village on the South end of Tampa Bay, Captain Ashley gained her first experiences of flats fishing from her father and grandfather. After a short time in the medical field and meeting Captain Mark, Ashley returned to inshore fishing full time. After Lyons Charters introduced their latest recruit 'Captain' Ryleigh, Ashley has migrated to marketing and administration, handling social media, photography and can still be requested for inshore trips. Ashley's fishing style is experimental with a 'why not' approach. Her favorite fish to eat is blacken Black Seabass, she has a love for different types of coffee and gardening.
